DICOM WG-06 Finalizes 20 Change Proposal to Standards

At its March 2016 meeting, the DICOM Base Standard Working Group Six (WG-06) finalized the language of 20 change proposals (CPs) that have been approved as revisions to the DICOM standard, in addition to approving 21 more CPs for balloting.  WG-06 is simultaneously reviewing and advising the development of 11 major supplements to the DICOM standard, each of these a small standard in itself. These include additions in the areas of CT, ultrasound, MRI, radiation therapy, and dose recording and general image presentation. This is the steady workload of WG-06, which meets for five weeklong meetings each year to advise the many specific working groups developing changes and conduct technical review and approval for DSC voting of the approximately 100 changes and 10 to 15 major additions to the DICOM standard each year.
