Opinion: More, not less, diagnostic imaging needed

There’s a statement on Congressman Dave Camp’s (R-Midland, website with which I agree wholeheartedly. The congressman wrote, “We cannot cut Medicare by over one-half trillion dollars without hurting seniors.”

It’s very hard for anyone to argue with those words.

Those are the sentiments that need to be kept foremost in mind by Camp and his 11 colleagues who serve on the “supercommittee” that was created by Congress to recommend over $1.5 trillion in deficit reduction measures. It’s not an easy job to hit such a daunting target, but I’m counting on our congressman to insist that the committee do so in a way that doesn’t hurt senior citizens.
