MITA blasts CMS imaging cut
The Medical Imaging and Technology Alliance (MITA) has issued a statement criticizing the imaging cut included in the proposed 2012 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule from the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
The proposal includes a 50% payment reduction in the professional component of multiple CT, MRI, and ultrasound scans that are administered to an individual patient on the same day in the same setting.
