Comparative Effectiveness Website Launches With Prostate Cancer Focus

A website designed to use comparative effectiveness research to help patients and their doctors choose a treatment option for localized, low-risk prostate cancer begins a test run in New England this week.

What is being called a “shared decision-making website” – at http://prostateoptions.icer-review.org/ – will be “beta” launched the week of Aug. 16, with full-scale promotion slated for late fall. Four provider groups and potentially thousands of patients in the metro-Boston area will initially take part once the site fully launches.
